The issue of bad roads is becoming very alarming in the country over recent years. There had been countless cases of people crying to the revelant authorities concerning bad roads.
One of such cries was in October 2017, when Rivers State monarch lamented that the East-West road had become a death trap. Subsequently, the Rivers State government pleaded with FG to declare emergency on the road.
And now, Royal fathers in Delta State have pleaded with the Federal Government to immediately declare a state of emergency on federal roads in the state, in order to stop the wastage of lives and property on the roads.
According to the chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, DSTRC, Obi of Owa, Emmanuel Efeizomor 11, a section of the Benin-Onitsha- Lagos Road, the Agbor-Umutu-Abraka-Warri Road, and the Ogwashi-Uku- Ughelli-Warri Road have become death traps for motorists and other road users as a result of the deplorable state of the roads, and that this ugly situation has led to many avoidable deaths and loss of property worth billions of naira.
