The Rt. Rev. F. G. V. Amgbare, Bishop of the Diocese of Northern Izon. |
The 3rd Session of the 2nd Synod of the Diocese of Northern Izon begins today at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Sabagreia, with the theme, TO GOD BE THE GLORY taken from Psalms 96.
The synod began with a Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion) with the Rt. Rev. James Aye Oruwori, the one time supervising Bishop of Northern Izon Dioces, and the incumbent bishop of Ogbia Diocese. In his sermon, Rt. Rev. James Aye Oruwori acknowledged the painful demise of the pioneer Bishop of the Diocese of Northern Izon, Rt. Rev. Anga Fred Nyanabo who passed away after a prolonged illness.
Speaking on the theme, TO GOD BE THE GLORY, the Bishop of the Ogbia Diocese, Rt. Rev. James Aye Oruwori, taught that the theme signifies the fact that God has given man the ability to recreate, to be promoted, and that God has the final say, hence, all glory should be ascribed to Him and Him alone.
He admonished all delegates of the Synod to trust God and to always put on an attitude of gratitude to God, bearing in mind that all glory should be to God.
To end the communion service, the Rt. Rev. F. G. V. Amgbare welcome all the delegates who have come from all over the Diocese, most especially the bishop of the Diocese of Ogbia, the Rt. Rev. James Aye Oruwori, and officially declared the Synod open in the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
