HOW CORRECT FINGERING HELPED ME BECOME A BETTER PERSON.

MieyeSeigha Pete

"On that fateful day, I was practicing, (more like low key playing a song I already knew how to play but just for other people to hear) when I was told by Kei El Genio that I was getting the fingering all wrong.

These were the words of the young flourishing pianist who plays for a Cathederal Area Church of St. Mark's in Kaiama, Diocese of Northern Izon. He further told Oscars NewsSpot that he had not been paying so much attention to the rules of fingering when playing the piano.

"I've always knew I was bad at fingering, I never paid attention to how my fingers moved on the piano, instead I just focused all my attention on producing the sound, not neccesarily "the right way".He went on to show me how to do it right and I swear I was bewildered. So I took it upon myself to make my fingering better. Better than ever.I decided to learn the basics of fingering and to attach it to my playing everytime, and after weeks of practicing with the right fingering, my technique improved. So the point?I put in my life. Correct fingering made my playing easier and took away the unnecessary stress that incorrect fingering brought me. So, I became more concious of my life, planning ahead and taking decisions that will affect my future in a good way. I asked myself questions that needed to be asked before doing things that weren't needed to be done.
That way, correct fingering improved my life.
